Late Night Listen 5.8.14

Well technically it’s May 9th, but I didn’t get to post today (May 8th) because well… I’m in college and it’s finals week.

Have you ever felt like you’re so stressed out you want to just get in you car, fill up the tank, and drive down South with someone you love… getting there before sunrise. Oh and half way there you throw your phone and computer out the window so no one can track you down and tell you what you owe them, or the next due date.

I don’t know maybe that’s just me.

I’m not sure if I have senior fever and I’m just ready to get the hell out of the school, or if I’ve lost all ability to concentrate and focus (I don’t think it’s the second one because I’m pretty focused on writing this post right now), but whatever it is I know the only thing that brings me down from my furry is music.

And that’s what I want to share with all of your right now.

I heard this song last night when I went to see “The Other Woman” with my roommate. It came at the resolution of the storyline, with an ocean scene, and lots of tears, and it was the kind of soundtrack song that made you get goosebumps and feel empathy. The music supervisor outdid herself (I’m guessing it was a woman with the song choice, but maybe that’s me being stereotypical) with this one.

I think the lyrics of this could appeal to anyone, but right now they really speak to me. Once you listen you’ll see why. This song is the contradiction to my above stated rant.

“Lift up your eyes and see the sun is rising.”

With love and hope, with empathy and compassion… for anything you’re going through, I can’t promise it’ll get better right now, but it will seem small one day, I present to you this song.

On a scale of 1 to Well Worth It... What did you think?
