Tinashe’s new album doesn’t officially come out until tomorrow, but she’s made the entire thing available for streaming on SoundCloud. I first heard this track, “Pretend” by the new RnB artist on Sirius XM station 47, The Heat. The track features A$AP Rocky and is definitely a strong way to introduce Tinashe to her audience.

She reminds me of a perfect melting pot full of the artists that I loved (and tried to be like with a hair brush in front of my mirror) from the 90’s. Artists like a young Ciara, Cassie, Natalie, and JoJo. Tinashe is single-handedly bringing back the old-school female RnB sound with the powerful break-up ballads making girls over blast their radio and feel as though they wrote the words coming through the speakers.
