“I know, cause I’ve spent half this morning, thinking about the tee shirt you sleep in.”

Birdy is a musical genius. You can agree, disagree, or feel impartial, but her ability to tell a story in a song is incomparable to so many artist of our generation. Thanks to one of my favorite 8tracks playlists I found one of her latest Summer releases for the movie, The Fault in Our Stars, which I refused to see because I knew I would get kicked out of the theater for my sobbing and nose-blowing.

“Tee Shirt” is one of my personal favorites from Birdy. The official music video for this song is as simplistic as the melody behind her complex story-telling.

“When I saw you, everyone knew I liked the effect you had on my eyes.”

What a poetic way to say: “I thought you were cute.”

Maybe I’m a little obsessed with this track right now, but I just love everything about it. The hook is so catchy. The meaning is beautiful. And even though I didn’t see the movie, I know the general gist of what happens, and I think this song underlines that theme so well.

If you have yet to hear this song I suggest you listen to it right away. If you’re at work grab some headphones, if you’re lucky enough to have your own office, blast this through your computer speakers, and if you’re in class … well then, pay attention because midterms are approaching! haha.

All jokes aside, I think this is one of the most amazing songs and I felt like it was my duty to share it with you guys because even if one person who’s never heard it before find out about it, I’ll feel accomplished.
