The Beauty in Life

We can try all we’d like to imagine what life would be like in 10 years. The job we may have, the person by our side or the color of the shutters on our porch. While it seems like the comfort of money and success would be enough to prove most years of our lives spent in school were worth it, the true beauty in life comes from the little un-knowings. To be unsure of the name that will attach to yours forever, or the place you will eventually call home. The spots where you’ll become a “regular” and the coffee you’ll wind up driving 30 minutes for every Sunday. It’s the little things that mean the most. The power of knowing your legacy will be left by being made up of things that matter, or paint a portrait of you to others. Would you rather be known for the commas that divide the numbers in your checking account, or for breaking the divide against something that holds weight for the balance of life?

The beauty in life is pursuing tomorrow, but feeling blessed when it arrives. It’s feeling the drive behind love and not just the emotion. The beauty in life is having the power to always dream for more and the freedom to take steps to achieve it. What do you remember more from high school… the math test you took that last Friday in October or the time your best friend thought it would be a good idea to prank the principal? Personal relationships will always mean more than things or achievements because they feel emotion back. That’s called empathy and that’s the beauty in life; that we can feel it.
