Alright guys, so, my mailman has something against Birchbox… or me… or both. Either way, I haven’t been getting my boxes on time and now some, not at all! Birchbox has been extremely helpful with the whole thing, sending me out new boxes when I don’t receive them. While I always post each month’s review the following month, it’s normally never this late in the month, but there’s no expiration on the products and therefore, none on my review posting timeline (the way I see it, anyway).
I was in love with my May Birchbox and I can’t wait to talk about all of the samples with you. I opted to receive the “Naturally Radiant” box. Here’s what the website has to say about it:
We’ve filled this box with barely-there essentials to help you feel like your most radiant self—including an SPF makeup setting mist for easy, everyday sun protection.

The samples I received are perfect for the start of Summer from a lightweight fragrance, to a subtle makeup setting spray, you can check out my out-of-ten ratings on the photos below:
CLEAN Blossom Eau de Parfum – 2.14 oz. is a beautiful scent, which means a lot coming from me because I’m usually a fan of more warm/fruity perfumes over the florally kind. It goes on light, with just one spray making a huge impact. Immediately the scent adapts to your body, smelling much different on my wrist than it did in the bottle. My only complaint is that while it retails at $72.00 a bottle, it does not last as long as comparatively expensive perfumes such as Escada.
While I haven’t been able to master it in the kitchen yet, I love creme brûlée. It’s amazing and light and delicious and it perfect describes the creme brûlée shade of ModelCo Lip Lacquer Trio that came in my May box. This lacquer goes on light and creamy without the sticky tendencies of a normal gloss and dries almost completely into a stain. Not only did it add a perfectly natural pop of color to my lips, but it lasted for at least six hours through the heat, eating and drinking. I’m not a fan of lip color and barely ever add it to my everyday look, but this is shade looked so natural you could hardly tell it was on and I love that! The only downfall for me would be having to purchase the three shades at once as someone who typically runs from shades like Viva (pictured far right).
Birhbox has me loving the scent of cucumber lately! Smelling like I was fresh out of the spa, the COOLA® SPF 30 Organic Makeup Setting Spray was a life changer. I’m a huge supporter of SPF in your skincare routine. My daily makeup routine normally only consists of a tinted moisturizer with SPF 30 and it’s a game-changer, especially in the Summer months. This makeup setting spray not only has a matte finish that definitely fights against the oily sheen your skin can gain throughout the day, but also an SPF to cover every inch of your pretty face with sun protection. One spray goes a long way, so it’s definitely worth the $38.00 price-tag!
All I knew about the Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer before receiving it was that it was Benefit’s best selling bronzer. I now know why. Instead of just using your bronzer to highlight your face, the Hoola Matte has no phony sheen and makes it perfect to give your entire face a warm, Summer glow. It was also the cutest sample I’ve ever received (just saying).
Unfortunately, I couldn’t test Davines LOVE Smoothing Shampoo & Conditioner – For Coarse or Frizzy Hair because I’m allergic to lavender. I’ve said this before, but I wish the preliminary Birchbox survey asked about allergies in the preference section. Luckily, the color of these products tipped me off, but I also know a bit of Italian and was able to decipher the ingredient section. I was totally bummed I couldn’t try them out because they’re from a small town in Sicily where my grandmother is from, but I was also a little confused why Birchbox assumed I had coarse and frizzy hair… so…
All jokes aside, I loved my May Birchbox and I think the samples included in it are perfect for a naturally beautiful Summer [look].
